Special numbers lead to $1 million prize Drawing Date: 9/24/2024 October 2, 2024 - A stop at QuikTrip, 19010 E. Highway 24 in Independence, Mo., turned out to be life changing for one lucky Missouri Lottery player when the Mega Millions® ticket he purchased there won a $1 million prize in the Sept. 24 drawing. “The numbers were actually a combination of birthdays and my anniversary,” the winner explained. He went back by the store the day after the drawing to check his numbers, but he couldn’t process that he had matched all five of the white-ball numbers. “I was just stunned,” he said. “I didn’t know what to say or do!” The winning Mega Millions numbers on Sept. 24 were 1, 6, 10, 23 and 27 with a Mega Ball number of 18. “This really couldn’t have come at a better time,” he concluded. Mega Millions is a multi-state Draw Game, with drawings held every Tuesday and Friday evening at 10 p.m. This Friday’s jackpot is estimated at $108 million. Players who purchased tickets in Jackson County in FY24 won more than $109.8 million in total Missouri Lottery prizes. Retailers received more than $9.8 million in commissions and bonuses, and education programs in the county received more than $22 million in appropriated Lottery proceeds.
