McKenzie, who claimed his prize Tuesday, April 18, at Massachusetts State Lottery headquarters in Dorchester, received a one-time payment of $1,000,000 (before taxes). He plans on putting his winnings toward buying a house. His winning ticket was purchased at Quick Pick Convenience, 973 Tremont St. in Boston. The store receives a $10,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket. Mega Millions is played in 45 states, Washington D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
