Manhattan Security Officer’s Quick Pick Ticket Earns him $1,000,000 Mega Millions Prize

December 27, 2013 - Fifty-five-year-old Keith Robinson, from Manhattan stopped at three or four stores to pick up his Quick Pick tickets for the December 13 Mega Millions drawing hoping to hit the $425,000,000 jackpot. One of those tickets matched the first five numbers drawn earning the long time security officer a million dollar pay day.
“I checked the numbers in the Sunday paper. When I saw that I matched five numbers I said ‘holey moley’ and then went crazy!” he explained.
Robinson purchased his winning Quick Pick ticket at the City Smoke Shop on 2nd Avenue in Manhattan. He will receive his prize as a one-time lump sum payment netting him $623,040 after required withholdings.
“I have a pretty big family so of course I’ll help them out. I also plan to buy myself a nice watch and possibly a vacation to Hawaii,” said Robinson.
The winning numbers from the December 13 Mega Millions drawing were 19 – 24 – 26 – 27 – 70 Mega Ball 12.
